This Collection of a dozen Chardonnays, all from the highly anticipated 2020 vintage, represent the breadth of terroir expressions and winemaking styles to be found in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

On this occasion we had 57 wines submitted for the blind tasting and selection by Master Sommelier Cameron Douglas.

It was a long & full day, “Probably one of the hardest wine evaluation and selection tastings I have completed, and what a fantastic day it was” confessed Cameron at dinner that night.

First narrowing down the submissions to 24. These were then lined up together and tasted again side by side, focusing on completeness and complexity, texture and concentration. This final evaluation culminated in this year’s 12 fantastic chardonnays that represent the Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay Collection – Vintage 2020.
