Hawke’s Bay wine producers are coming to Melbourne on Tuesday, 19 May 2026 at The Kelvin Club, bringing together trade and sommeliers for tastings and masterclasses highlighting the region’s diversity. The event also marks the launch of the inaugural Hawke’s Bay Wine Ambassadorship, in partnership with Sommeliers Australia, supporting long-term trade relationships in Australia.

Organic Winegrowers New Zealand (OWNZ) will host Dr Mary Retallack in Hawke’s Bay on Tuesday 21 July as part of the EcoVineyards regional workshop tour. The day will include a morning session on functional biodiversity, vineyard and soil health, followed by a practical afternoon workshop, equipping growers with tools to monitor biodiversity and vineyard health. Everyone is welcome and tickets go on sale in April.
The theme of the 2026 symposium is quality, focusing on the unique features that define New Zealand’s whenua, climate, and philosophy, and how these elements come together to enable the production of premium Chardonnay.
